The National Bank of Cambodia, in collaboration with Mastercard, launched the Bakong Tourist app. The event was presided over by H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, and attended by notable figures including Mr. Sapan Shah, Senior Vice President of Mastercard, and Datuk Phan Ying Tong, Founder & Chairman of Oriental Bank.

This partnership aims to enhance the experience of international tourists by simplifying financial transactions and minimizing issues related to currency handling. The Bakong Tourist app offers a convenient digital payment option, allowing visitors to easily pay for goods and services after downloading the app upon arrival in Cambodia. Tourists can link their Mastercard from their home countries to top up their Bakong accounts. A key feature of the app enables both international and local Mastercard holders to make seamless KHQR payments at over 3.3 million merchant locations nationwide.

Through its investment in digital innovation, Oriental Bank seeks to strengthen the financial ecosystem, stimulate economic growth, and contribute to the transformation of Cambodia's financial landscape.
